PowerDash a growing energy performance monitoring services company based in Cambridge, Mass., founded by two principals who each have over seven years of experience developing web-based, remote monitoring of solar PV systems. The PowerDash platform of services is built on an elegant approach to data acquisition, integrating common standards such as SunSpec, leading device solutions, cost-effective cellular/wireless data services, and modern cloud-based web infrastructure. This platform includes robust operations tools such as fleet diagnostics and alerts, engaging features for education and public awareness, and a range of automated reporting services for RECs, SRECs, rebate verification, and Forward Capacity Market programs.
Customers and users include leading energy services integrators, municipalities and other government agencies, individual homeowners, SREC aggregators, museums, and more. PowerDash is currently serving hundreds of systems in several states. In Massachusetts alone, PowerDash is currently monitoring systems representing about 5 megawatts of solar PV generating capacity, with that number projected to reach 10 megawatts by the end of 2011.
Through the SunSpec board, on which Stephen serves, PowerDash is focused on gathering input from equipment customers to help ensure that SunSpec serves the needs of the marketplace. Beyond SunSpec board work, PowerDash is collaborating in various ways with fellow SunSpec members to showcase the value of an integrated, SunSpec-compliant solution stack.
